You can then view your essential school, student, and staff information -- for your entire district -- on your PDA ... anywhere!

With our new X-TOTAL^TM software, you can easily send the information that you always seem to need but never seem to have available to your Palm® Pilot PDA.

(In fact, X-TOTAL^TM  operates equally well on any Handheld PDA that uses the Palm® Operating System.  This includes, but is not limited to, devices made by PalmSource®, Sony®, Handspring®, Symbol®, Kyocera®, Handera® and  Samsung®.)

A PC-based utility with X-TOTAL^TM reads your SASIxp^TM District Integration Database and formats certain key information about schools, students, and staff so that this information can be transferred to your Palm® OS PDA. Then another program, called a conduit, actually transfers the information to the Palm® PDA during a normal HotSync operation. A third program allows you to view the information and search for specific students and staff on your Palm® OS handheld.

The number of students and staff in your district is the determining factor. Generally, it takes just a few minutes to process and HotSync 20,000 students. (This time estimate may vary based on the configuration of your network and how fast your personal PC runs.)

Searching for a student by last name in a 40,000 student database takes under four seconds. You will find X-TOTAL^TM to be very fast! You can also search and filter data by ethnic code, gender, school, etc.

It takes only about three Mbytes of memory on a Palm® OS device to store 20,000 students and 2,000 staff members. Accordingly, 10,000 students and 1,000 staff members requires only about 1.5 Mbytes of memory.  X-TOTAL^TM uses some very efficient methods to compress your data!

Unless you have over 20,000 students, most Palm® OS PDAs with 8 Mbytes of memory should be adequate. If you have over 20,000 students, we recommend that you use a device with 16 Mbytes of memory like the Palm® M515 or Tungsten T.  Most people will use their Palm® device for tasks in addition to X-TOTAL^TM, so we suggest that you save yourself some expansion room on your PDA.

Not at all! Usage is intuitively obvious and L-Systems adheres rigorously to the application guidelines recommended by PalmSource®. You will be productive immediately because the learning curve for your effective use of X-TOTAL^TM is virtually nil!
