How does X-FOTOTM work?
X-FOTOTM provides you with software tools to create and maintain a database of student photographs. The X-FOTOTM software allows you to import digital student photographs en masse from your school photographer's CD (like Herff Jones®, Lifetouch®, etc.) and individually from your digital camera. How do the photos get to my Palm® Handheld Device?X-FOTOTM has a utility that converts the photos in your database to a format that can be displayed on your Palm® device. This software converts the photos, creates a Palm® database, and installs it into your Palm® desktop so that the photo database is loaded to your Palm® device during the normal HotSync process. It's all very quick and easy. Doesn't this take a lot of memory on my Palm® device? That depends on two things -- how many pictures you have in your database and how big you want the pictures to be once they are installed to your PDA. X-FOTOTM allows you to choose the display size of the pictures on your Palm® PDA. And X-FOTOTM also allows you to load your pictures on an external memory stick (standard for most Palm® PDAs available today) so memory is not really a constraint. How do I look up a student's picture on my Palm®?Simply look up a student by name. With a quick search, you will see a list of names. Just tap on the name of the student whose picture you would like to see, and the picture is instantly displayed! What kind of Palm® PDA do I need for X-FOTOTM?Most Palm® PDAs with color screens and OS 4.1 or higher are adequate for X-FOTOTM. If you plan to load the pictures directly to your PDA instead of to an external memory stick, then, of course, the more memory the better. |
