Attention! School Resource Officers
As school populations continue to grow, maintaining discipline in overcrowded spaces becomes more important -- and more difficult -- than ever before. You need to be on top of problems, in touch with at-risk students, in communication with parents. At the same time, you're expected to keep extensive records and to file comprehensive reports. It's a universal problem -- not enough manpower, not enough hours in the day. That's why we designed the D- TRAK®Online Student Discipline Tracking System for Windows®.
The D-TRAK® System is the School Resource Officer's number one resource!
Look at some of the ways that D-TRAK® can work for you:
Spot Troubling Behavior Trends and head them off before they become pervasive. D-TRAK® can summarize discipline incidents by any criteria, over any time period you specify. Instantly generate reports that group incidents by perpetrator, infraction code, location code, student demographics such as grade, gender, ethnicity, or socioeconomic level. Instantly draw the big picture. What's the most common discipline problem? Which group is involved in the most discipline incidents? In what area do most incidents occur? At what time of day does most trouble occur?
Track Drug Offenses and classify them. You can customize the list of Infraction Codes to include more narrow definitions such as possession, distribution, or sale of controlled or illegal substances, etc. Then generate reports of incidents involving those specific codes.
Track Weapons Possession by simply selecting the weapon from a list when you record a new discipline incident. The weapons list, too, is customizable -- add, delete, or edit weapons preprogrammed into the system. And any of the available reporting formats that list individual incidents will specify any weapon that was used.
Track At-Risk Students and your efforts to turn them around. Designate a student as "At Risk", call up a report on his/her discipline history at any time, and keep a log of preventive or corrective activities assigned, not in response to a particular incident, but in response to the student's overall behavior or need.
Track Suspensions in or out of school, and via the In-School Suspension Analysis or Out-Of-School Suspension Analysis reports, know how many times each student has received the action for one day, two days, three days, etc.
Satisfy Federal Reporting Requirements with a few clicks of the mouse. In a one-time report setup, simply tie your school's codes to those used by the federal government. Each time you generate the Federal Discipline Report, D-TRAK® will automatically select the prescribed incidents and translate your coding into the government's format.

If you're located in North Carolina, you can flag discipline incidents that are reportable to law enforcement and generate the State-mandated School Crime and Violence Report.
If you're located in Texas, flag incidents (with suspension or alternative placement actions) that are reportable to PEIMS and facilitate generation of your Safe Schools Data Collection Report as required by Chapter 37 of the Texas Education Code.

Quickly Communicate with Parents by selecting from a bank of standard letters before you post an incident into the database. These letters are formatted so that, when printed, folded, and inserted in a standard #9 business envelope, the return and recipient's addresses will appear in the windows -- another time-saving feature. And don't think standard letters, by definition, lack specifics. They can be set up to automatically include the punishment dates assigned to a student and any notes recorded about the incident.
