To help a teacher quickly determine if he/she has taken attendance in a class on the date displayed, the roster will sport a green frowning face when attendance has not been taken or a yellow smiley face when attendance has been taken.
All of the identifying information for the section chosen will be listed at the top, left of the screen, so a teacher can verify that the class actually selected matches the intended selection.
The current date will be featured at the top, center of the screen. To mark attendance for another date, the teacher would click on the small calendar icon, and, from a larger calendar that would pop up, click on the desired date. The larger calendar would close and the selected date would replace the current date.
To mark an absence, the teacher would simply click in the Absence column on the same line as the absent student's name. The default absence mark that was set under the Administration program would be inserted into the space. (In this example, the mark is N for Truant.)
To mark a tardy, the teacher would click in the Tardy column on the same line as the tardy student's name, and a T would be inserted into the space.
A student's attendance in other classes on the same date may be viewed by clicking in the Today column on the same line as the student's name.

A four-button bar in the upper right area of the screen provides additional options. The button at the far left, with the Pointing Finger icon allows X-TWOTM to interact with X-ONETM, the daily attendance program. Clicking on this icon refreshes the screen, allowing X-TWOTM to pick up any late check ins of students who belong in the class.
The second icon from the left in the same button bar displays a screen where a Monthly Verification of Period Attendance report can be set up and generated.
