Entering a New Discipline Incident
into the D-TRAK® Database

To select the details of the offense -- just point and click!

Selecting Details of the Offense

  1. The Date of Incident field will feature the current date. You may change this default by simply clicking on the calendar icon to its right and selecting another date from a pop-up calendar.
  2. If the Time-of-Day tracking option was selected during setup of the program, the current time will be displayed. You may change the time by clicking on the field to highlight it and entering new numerals -- D-TRAK® takes care of the colon for you. (There's no need to enter AM or PM designations. D-TRAK® will treat the hours of noon through five as PM and the hours of six through eleven as AM when times are retrieved from the database for reports.)
  3. If the incident-location-tracking option was selected during program setup, the Where It Occurred field will be displayed for your selection. Click on the location of the incident to select it.
  4. Click to select the Administrator who is responsible for taking discipline action as a result of this incident.
  5. Click to select the Teacher/Reporter -- the school personnel who reported the incident.
  6. Finally, click on one or more Infraction Codes for the offense.
  7. When you've made a selection in each field, the Proceed button will appear in the lower right corner of the screen.
So our sample student, John Doe, was found engaging in aggressive behavior -- fighting -- in the cafeteria. Next, we'll assign an action to John's infraction. Click on the Proceed button now. (Go to the TOP of the screen.)
