Checking a Student In/Out for Daily AND Period Attendance
View the Pertinent Portion of the Student's Schedule with Period Attendance Markings
Selection of a Status will automatically display the portion of the student's schedule that is pertinent to the late arrival or early departure. In our example, John Doe's schedule is displayed to show the periods involved up to and including 11:08, the time of his late arrival, and X-ONETM marks those periods with the default absence code, in this case, a U for Unexcused.
Under the System/Controls menu in the X-ONETM Administration program, you'll set how much of a period a student must attend to be considered present. In the Check In/Out program shown here, X-ONETM will determine -- and notify you via a pop-up information screen -- if the student has missed enough of the current period to be considered absent.)
Alternately, X-ONETM can mark a student tardy (T) for the current period if he/she has not missed enough of the period to be considered absent.
You can make changes manually if, for example, you want to change a Tardy designation to an excused one. You'll click on a blank area of the line you want to alter, and a screen overlay listing all marking possibilities will pop up. You'll select a new designation, which will close the overlay and replace the previous absence code with your selection.
The Classroom Tardy button is provided for marking the records of students who are in attendance at school but late to class. For example, a student who is roaming the hall without a pass during class time can be marked tardy for the current period with the Classroom Tardy button.
A tally of the Number of (like) Occurrences since the starting tally date (which is set in the X-ONETM Administration program and is usually the first date of the current school year or semester) is displayed at the bottom of the screen. If the number displayed is 3, for example, the tally means that twice before the current activity the student has been marked for the same attendance designation that you are currently marking, such as In/Not Excused.
You may view the student's entire schedule for the date selected by clicking on the Schedule icon (at the top of the screen, to the left of the Exit button).
Click on the Schedule icon button on the screen above to see a full student-schedule display. (Return to the top of the screen.)
Clicking on the Telephone icon to the left of the Schedule icon will display parent/guardian contact information. (Return to the top of the screen.)
Click on the Telephone icon to see the contact information screen that would pop up.
When you are satisfied that the information listed on this Check Students In/Out screen is correct, you can click the Post/Pass button, which will post the data into the database and print a student pass, or the Post/No Pass button, which will only post the data. (Of course, if you made a mistake, you'd simply click on the Do NOT Post button and confirm that you want to exit without posting the attendance information you entered. You'd be returned to the student record locator screen where you could begin again.)
Checking a student in or out with X-ONETM is that simple!
Click on the Post/No Pass button on the screen above to return to the X-ONETM main screen. (Return to the top of the screen.)
